Kerrisa has been a licensed physical therapist for over 16 years. Kerrisa has a passion for helping others, and has spent her career aiding others reach their health and fitness goals.
Kerrisa has experience treating patients with a wide range of diagnosis, from spinal cord injuries, to strokes to post-op orthopedic surgeries; over a wide range of settings, including outpatient orthopedics, acute rehab, and home health.
In addition to treating patients, Kerrisa has held multiple managerial and director roles. Kerrisa’s experience with leadership and knowledge of the human body provided an easy transition into the world of group fitness instruction with The Bar Method.
Kerrisa has been a certified Bar Method instructor for over 6 years. She began her teaching career at the flagship Marina Studio in San Francisco, and joined the team at Boston studios (Back Bay and Downtown) in 2019.
Kerrisa was promoted to master instructor in the fall of 2019 after successfully teaching over 2,000 classes.
As The Bar Method's National Physical Therapy consultant, Kerrisa works closely with studio owners and HQ to maintain and elevate the safety and efficacy of The Bar Method nationwide.
She collaborates with the learning and development team, as well as the innovation team to develop and test new exercises, create continuing education, and update technique manuals.
As a national coach, Kerrisa works with the Bar Method HQ Learning and Development team to review technique, advance training processes, structure franchise evaluations, and implement studio feedback.
Kerrisa creates and executes group trainings, facilitates workshops, and develops training content to build alignment across all studios nationwide. In addition, she evaluates studio owners' instruction and provides comprehensive written feedback and coaching.
Lastly, she collaborates with studio owners to advance teacher development, cultivate innovation, and enhance the client experience.
